Fried Green, I mean Red, Tomatoes

We still have tomatoes coming out of ours ears, so I've been trying to be creative in using as many as I can. Here's a take on fried green tomatoes.

Home grown tomatoes thick sliced, dipped in egg, and then coated in a mixture of seasoned breadcrumbs, panko breadcrumbs, and grated cheese. I sprinkled with garlic powder and salt before lightly frying in olive oil.

Craig made the addition of ranch dressing (which by the way he made from scratch!)

They do look good, and I'm like you, I didn't discover tomatoes were good till I was a grown-up. I was just wondering, with all these tomatoes, how come you haven't tried homemade Bloody Mary's yet?

I see how these comments come to be....thinking Bloody Mary's means Jeanne is having a bad day, but thinking Blood Mary's means Jenn is having a good day!

And, oh yes, those tomatoes look great. Have you tried grabbing a few while they are green and doing the fried tomato thing?

With all the red ones we have already sitting on the counter, I'm not picking any before they are ready!
